Arthur's Home Learning

This week Arthur  brought in some of the home learning tasks he has been working on.

He has completed an activity challenge by attending swimming lessons weekly and working hard to reach all of the goals in each of the different levels.

He and his family made cute soft toys out of socks! He had to be patient while he stuffed dacron into the sock and then decorated it by sewing eyes on with his mum.

Team work

Today for Discovery time we were practising team work. We decided that team work is when you have to work with other people. To do this effectively we needed to-
Think of other people's feelings
Be nice to each other
Listen
Say "thank you"
Use our hands for helping
Take turns
Say "please"

Ambury park trip

Ambury Farm Visit

Today our class visited Ambury Farm in Mangere, South Auckland. We got to learn heaps of interesting things about all the different farm animals that live on the park.
One of the many highlights of the day was when we got to feed the lambs and piglets.
Thank you to all the wonderful parent helpers that came with us and helped make our day so enjoyable.

Making cows

This week we have been looking at different types of cows and what they need to be happy on a farm.
We were lucky enough to be sent some cow templates from Dairy NZ and took the challenge to make them up ourselves. They were tricky to make but worth it.

Happy 100 days of learning!

Today was our 100th day of learning in room 14.
To celebrate we did a whole day of math activities based on the number 100.
How many times could we say the alphabet in 100 seconds, how mayn times can we write our names in 100 seconds. We made a giant lolly jar and filled it with 100 lollies.
To make the day extra fun we had a shared lunch.
We can't wait for the next 100 days of learning!

Today we learnt about what happens to milk once it leaves the dairy farm. At the milk factory it is put into a machine that separates it into cream and skim milk. This is what they use to make the different types of milk.
We talked about the cream and discovered what happens when you shake cream and a pinch of salt.
