Getting started on our personal inquiry projects

After a week of immersion activities that encouraged us to be creative, 4 key areas of interest emerged; Beyblades, building cities and houses, making puppets, building playhouses. We have chosen which of these things we would like to take further and learn more about. So this term there are 3 inquiry teams working in our class- 1. What makes a great Beyblade? How do you organise a great Beyblade tournament? 2. How do you make a great puppet? What does it take to put on a great show for others? 3. What does a great playhouse look like? What do we need to learn so we can build a great playhouse?

Math a thon winners!

Our school held a math-a-thon fundraiser to raise money for an upgrade to our playground. Over 4 weeks we had math questions to learn at home and gather sponsors.
For every $20 raised we got an entry into the draw for math-a-thon prizes. Over 30 prizes were given out and 2 of them were from our class!
Well done everyone who participated.

Things that go!

Today the O'Neills classes kicked off their new topic called "Things that go!". All the kids were asked to bring in something that goes and then worked with a group to classify and figure out how all their things are made to go.
Once they had finished investigating things they then had to work as a team to design and build something that could transport a play dough blobby man safely across the hall.

Life Education

The Life Education caravan has been visiting our school this term and our class has been learning all about food. We wanted to make up our own book to show what we have learnt.
